or another example is separating sand from a mixture dirt.Take 100 ml beaker, pour the mixture, and stir with a stirring rod 10- 15 minutes. Once done, let the beaker to stand for 20-30 minutes. as time goes you will see the different layer in the beaker with sand at the bottom of beaker as it is heavier than dirt and then a layer of dirt on it.
